Microsoft stopped support to Skype for 85% of Lumia smartphones to late October

Some analysts predict that very soon Microsoft will stop developing new devices, Lumia. The company failed to make its mobile platform competitor to Android and iOS. If you own a smartphone of this series is good to know that very soon will be able to download Skype. Official data reveal that this will happen at the end of this month. Microsoft stopped support to Skype for 85% of Lumia smartphones will not be able to work with the popular application.

WHY MICROSOFT STOPPED SUPPORT TO SKYPE?

Consumers will be able to download Skype from the official shop of the mobile platform. Even if you find a direct link to install the application and it will only be a temporary solution, forward PhoneArena. From the beginning of next year, Skype would cease to function for smartphones Lumia. Microsoft stops support service for all devices that operate with Windows RT. Older models running Android will also be affected by this decision.

It should be noted that Skype would be compatible only with devices that have installed Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update. Today, 13.7 percent of smartphones have been updating to the platform. An interesting fact is that 9.5% of them operate with Windows 10 Mobile 1511, which does not support Skype. To a great extent we can say that this is yet another move to Microsoft, which will gradually lead to the end of smartphones Lumia.

The Talko website reads :
Those of you who’ve used Talko on a daily basis have shaped the product and its interfacedesign. We’ve loved the many conversations we’ve had with you as the product has evolved. You’ve told us how wonderful and effective it’s been to “show & tell” with your teams and families, and how you use your voice to get things done. We’ve been particularly taken aback by how the product has been embraced by the vision-impaired; this was truly unexpected.
As the Talko service sunsets over the next several months, which it will by March 2016, please rest assured that we’ll be giving you a way to request an export of all your past Talko conversations – voice, text, and photos – as simple files. Looking forward, we hope to hear from you again as we find ways to deliver the best of Talko in Skype.
