Notebook Review HP EliteBook Folio 1020: bargain

HP has recently introduced its new line of the business-class device under the high-sounding title EliteBook. The youngest model, ultra-thin laptop HP EliteBook Folio 1020, has two versions – Standart Edition and Special Edition. In this review, we will focus on the first version. It is a thin, metallic ultrabook with good performance and a new Intel Core-M processor that does not require active cooling system.

DESIGN

To say that the ultra-thin laptop HP EliteBook Folio 1020 looks stylish, still, that describe the dress by Versace word “fashionable”. HP’s designers did a good job with this model: the brand recognizable style preserved, and at the same time, created a very special bright and stands out among other notebooks.
By the way, this model boasts a unique weight – 1.2 kg, 15.7 mm thick through the use of carbon fiber construction. But in the high-end model in this series, Special Edition, weighs 990 grams, as some tablets.

In appearance there is nothing superfluous, all well balanced and looks as it should look like a businessman or businesswoman device. The body is made from nice a cooling metal arms with a light rough surface. For underbody uses soft-touch spray and rubber feet for stability on the surface.

PERFORMANCE

The novelty of the ultra-thin laptop HP EliteBook Folio 1020 is based on dual-core Intel Core M-5Y71 clocked at 1.2 GHz. The special features of these processors include the absence of the need to install active cooling. Thanks to Turbo Boost technology, the processor may “accelerate” to 2.9 GHz. A Hyper – Threading each core technology can operate in two streams, respectively, two times faster process information. Also, the device supports Intel vPro technology, which allows using the laptop remotely, regardless of the computer’s state (on, off), operating system and security features.
Also used integrated graphics Intel HD Graphics 5300. The amount of RAM is 4GB, but there SSD-drive capacity of 128 GB of storage. Thanks to the SSD, the notebook is turned on almost immediately, coming out of a dream and launches the browser. Also to cope with the programs very well. By the way, the housing can be found microSD slot for memory cards, which will to some extent solve the problem with a small amount of data storage.

INTERFACE & SOFTWARE
