LG G5 try to change the smartphone market with modular model that allows users to install additional accessories to the device. LG modular smartphones did not attract customers and will probably be discontinued from the program, reports The Verge. This automatically that LG G6 will be plain design.
LG modular smartphones initially had big plans for G5. The company plans to develop a wide range of various accessories, additional cameras, speakers and more. The aim was to motivate other companies to offer modules. However, production of the phone has been complicated and expensive, and interests of consumers do not justify the cost. LG has not commented on the topic.
The news comes amid end modular phone Google Project Ara. In September it became clear that Google also gave up his ambitious project. Google still has plans to offer the project as a license to other manufacturers who want to continue. It is not clear whether there is interest shown by a company.
