“Internet of Things” is becoming increasingly popular and feasible idea. However, in the way of mass adoption of this technology, there are several obstacles. One of them – the reluctance of many modern people use these technologies. The problem is not that people are afraid of new ideas or do not know how to use technology. Quite the contrary – the number of gadget lovers grows exponentially. The problem quite different.
According to sociologists, the US and UK people do not actively create their own smart home for one reason only – these houses or apartments they do not own. In fact, in the US, only 36% of homeowners under the age of 35 years, and in the UK, and even less – here only 10% of people under 34 years old have their own apartment or house.
All the rest – rented accommodation. Needless to invest hundreds or thousands of dollars to create a smart home project in rented accommodation, from which in a year will have to leave, no one will. For the most part, tenants renting accommodation for about 12 months, and then look for other options.
The idea of IOTAS to tenants could also join the modern technologies and the “Internet of Things”. And it can be done by offering housing tenants with an already installed system “smart home”. Smart locks, thermostats, air conditioning, coffee maker and fridge – all of these devices with the beginnings of AI waiting owners in apartments rented.
So far, the proposals from IOTAS not so much – it’s quite expensive, beat the whole apartment smart-technology and undertake a home upgrade systems. Nevertheless, the company hopes that more customers will look exactly the apartment with the systems of “smart home” rather than conventional housing.
In the United States are working on the new idea of smart homes for rent
