The conference QRD (Qualcomm Reference Design) was announced in the near start mass production of the new 8-core mobile chipset – Snapdragon 615. By the way, this is the first processor from Qualcomm ctakim cores.

Snapdragon 615 will be built on 64-bit architecture and accommodate themselves to eight cores Cortex-A53. Graphics processor Adreno 405 installed here. Do not forget about LTE chip. As for the screen resolution, it will be supported up to 2560×1600 pixels.

Incidentally, an interesting fact. In the summer of 2013 at Qualcomm said they did not see the point of producing processors with more cores (then under the downpour American jokes were Chinese chips MediaTek).

Production of 64-bit versions of Snapdragon 810 (8 cores) and Snapdragon 808 (6 cores) is scheduled for late 2014. All chips that are built on 20-nm process will be collected on the TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).

Also at the conference shared their views on the market for mobile chips. In 2014, likely to be quickly gaining popularity processors with LTE (something comparable to the tremendous growth of 8-core processors in 2013). By the way, due to the popularity of these chipsets, the average price of smartphones on them has dropped to $ 163.
