A group of researchers from the KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) has developed a new method for high-speed wireless data transmission.
It is noted that in the laboratory could reach a speed of wireless data transmission of 100 Gb / s, which is a new world record. To do this, use the frequency 237.5 GHz and equipment used photonic method for generating radio signals at the transmitter. Transmission distance is 20 meters. Previously, the same group of researchers was able to transfer data wirelessly at speeds of 40 Gb / s at a distance of 1 km.
Researchers have not yet reported when high-speed wireless communications technology will be ready for commercial exploitation.
Set a record for wireless data transmission - 100 GB / s
