The consortium must run the central database has until October 20. The director of “Ukrainian center of support numbers and addresses” Yuri Goncharuk said that currently the company is looking for specific technological solutions.

“We have a sample list of manufacturers, but I would not want to call the applicants. According to our estimates, in the first stage will have to invest 40 million hryvnia, the launch of the system that should be enough, “- he said.

According to “Kommersant”, the supplier of the necessary equipment will be selected US-based Telcordia Technologies, which over the past few years has been actively advising NCCIR in implementing MNP.

Many assume that these investments will pay off quickly enough, as the service of a centralized database service, but rather for an incoming call to a ported number, a consortium of mobile operators will be charged. According to Mr. Goncharuk, the board will be “a few cents” for every call.

One of the Ukrainian operator reports that the average day in the GSM-network in Ukraine committed 158 million incoming calls, of which MNP service will use up to 15% of subscribers (up 8.8 million SIM-cards). Thus, at the rate of 0.01 hryvnia per-call administrator of the central database only to such statements as “Kyivstar”, “MTC” and “Astelit” can earn about $ 11 million a year. Director of regulatory and legal support of the company’s business, “Kyivstar” Andrew Osadchuk notes that at present there are still many technical issues that are unlikely to settle for the remaining three months.
