Edition Wall Street Journal claims that the new iPad tablet model thin-film technology will be implemented sensor module GF2, as in the iPad mini.

What most people call screen consists of several components, one of which is the touchpad, which is located between the LCD display and protects the glass.

According to research firm IHS iSuppli , the tablet iPad mini uses a more subtle touch panel on the base film than analog-based glass in the older model iPad 4. Currently, Asian sources citing “people familiar with the situation,” reported that Apple plans to use the same technology in the new full-size model of the tablet iPad.

For the first-tier manufacturers the ability to use touch panels on the base film will make the plates thinner and lighter. Since Apple is the largest supplier of tablets in the world, it can have a significant impact on suppliers of components. Increased demand for touch panels on the base film may play into the hands of producers of films based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

It is worth noting that in the second quarter of 2013 the share of iPad tablet for the first time was less than half of all deliveries.
