The Canadian company WeWi Telecommunications prepares to release a laptop on Sol solar-powered, which is suitable in this extreme travelers. It is fortified, protected from the adverse effects of water model, with fast operating system Ubuntu 13.04 , which in April introduced Canonical.
The main feature of the device is the folding solar panels that charge the battery of the laptop. According to the manufacturer, to provide 8 to 10 hours of continuous operation of the computer takes only a couple of hours of charging from the sun.
Sol laptop is available in two variations – a simple $ 350 U.S. and waterproof card under the name of Sol Marine for $ 400. Sales should begin “soon.” Of course, for the money offered is not a powerful gaming laptop.
At the heart of Sol processor is dual-core Intel Atom D2500 1.86 GHz Hard Drive Seagate 320 GB, 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM DDR3. The display has a modest 13.3 inches and a resolution of WXGA (1366 × 768 pixels).
