Canon has introduced a couple of new cameras – models of advanced PowerShot G16 and PowerShot S120 with high speed photography. Both cameras are based on the new image processor Canon DIGIC 6, which, according to the company, allows to get good shots in the most challenging shooting conditions.
HS System combines the DIGIC processor 6 and high-sensitivity CMOS-sensor size 1/1, 7 inches with a resolution of 12.1 megapixels, which create images with a wider dynamic range, lower noise and high detail. Thanks to the upper threshold of the ISO 12800 all this is now possible with a low light.
Cameras were able to conduct ultra-fast continuous shooting at a constant speed of about 9 frames per second. And increased the speed of the autofocus system – in this aspect of the PowerShot G16 is 41% faster than its predecessor, PowerShot G15, PowerShot S120 and 50% faster PowerShot S110.
Canon f/1.8-2.8 aperture lens camera PowerShot G16 is created with the use of lenses made of glass with a high refractive index. The lenses are multilayer coating that is designed to interact with light waves of a certain length in the nanometer scale.
5x optical zoom lens makes it the new universal, while the aperture of f/1.8 at wide-angle (28mm) and f/2.8 – at telephoto (140 mm). This makes it possible to use faster shutter speeds to capture moving subjects in low light – even at the maximum zoom.
In addition, G16 is the first in the history of the Canon PowerShot camera series G, equipped with a wireless module. Camera’s LCD screen has a diagonal of 3 inches (7.5 cm), also has an optical viewfinder.
PowerShot S120 – the first model of the S series and the world’s slimmest camera with lens f/1.83. 24 mm wide-angle lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 and a 5x optical zoom lens gives you ample opportunity to shoot a variety of subjects.
The camera can send images directly to mobile devices and social networks on Wi-Fi, and the basic parameters can be set in several ways – through the housing made of buttons, touch screen with a diagonal of 7.5 cm (3 inches) or the traditional S-series control ring on the lens.
Both cameras support full manual control of exposure settings and shooting is also available with various aspect ratio and in a format RAW. Technology Canon optical image stabilization compensates for the shaking to prevent blur and judder with photos and video.
In both chambers provides an improved Dynamic mode image stabilization to 5 axes. He compensates including rotation around the longitudinal axis of the chamber, often occurs when shooting video from a moving vehicle or while walking.
PowerShot G16 and PowerShot S120 supports recording video in Full HD (1920 x 1080) 60p with stereo sound when recording videos can be operated optical zoom and AF Tracking System. PowerShot G16 and PowerShot S120 expected to be available in late September or October, priced at $ 550 and $ 450, respectively.
