According to the forecast of industrial sources of Digitimes, the company Hewlett-Packard, better known simply as HP, will increase in the third quarter shipments of its notebooks on the market by about 15-20%. At the same time, it is expected that Lenovo will reduce supply as compared to the previous quarter by 9.7%. Therefore, it can be argued that HP will regain the title of the largest supplier of notebook computers.
Lenovo ahead of HP in the battle for first place in the ranking of suppliers of laptops in the second quarter with a market share of 16.7%, while at HP, according to IDC, the market share was equal to 16.4%. The results of the second quarter according to research firm Gartner estimates are almost the same: 16.7% of the market from Lenovo versus 16.3% for HP.
Supply growth in the third quarter, HP achieved through successful participation in government procurement programs. In particular, the company received an order to supply laptops for education of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Also at Hewlett-Packard, the well-informed sources, there is a good chance of receiving an order for supply of 2 million laptops for the Indian local governments.
HP currently working with three ODM-producers. Quanta Computer and Wistron, mainly produce models for the consumer segment, and Inventec is responsible for the production of laptops for business.
