Epson has developed the world’s smallest inertial measurement unit M-V340. Such units are used in the mobile devices to determine their movements. Also they can be used in medicine.
It is noted that this new product was developed by a separate integrated circuit. As a result, it was possible to reduce the number of components used and optimize the arrangement. Thus was created the inertial measuring unit having dimensions of 10x12x4 mm and a weight of 1 in addition to reduction in device size engineers also able to create a sufficiently cost-effective solution, which consumes 18mA. This is 40% less than the previous model.
Epson is going to start shipping samples of an inertial measurement unit M-V340 in December of this year.
