ASUS demonstrated at IDF 2013 hybrid mobile devices Transformer Book

As part of the event Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in 2013, ASUS has demonstrated two ultra-mobile devices Transformer Book T100 and Transformer Book Trio. Both new items presented are hybrid devices. They can be used as a tablet as well as in the case of connection of laptop keyboard unit.

Model ASUS Transformer Book T100 is equipped with a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen display (1366×768 pixels) IPS-based matrix and a 4-core processor Intel Atom Z3740 (Bay Trail). The device contains 2 GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of flash memory, a slot for memory cards microSD, micro-USB port and micro-HDMI. In the keyboard unit is available an additional full-port USB 3.0. Duration of work in offline mode declared at 11:00. Tablet weight of 1.2 pounds (about 0,544 kg) and the total weight of the keyboard sets – 2.4 lbs (about 1,088 kg).

The device runs on Windows 8.1 and is preconfigured package Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 with full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Additionally it is reported that the market will go and modification Transformer Book T300 with a 13.3-inch Full HD display and an Intel Core fourth generation. The device ASUS Transformer Book T100 will be available from October 18, priced at $ 349 and $ 399 for a model with 32 and 64 GB of memory.

Model Transformer Book Trio is functionally similar to the Transformer Book T100. It also includes a block of the tablet and the keyboard unit. But in this case, the keyboard unit available its own processor and memory. Thus, the scope of application of the device significantly expanded. Keyboard unit can be used as a full-fledged single desktop computer by connecting a monitor or TV. The tablet has a 11.6-inch IPS Full HD display and a 2-core processor Intel Atom. The device runs on Android. In the keyboard unit is integrated processor Intel Core fourth-generation Mini DisplayPort interfaces are available and Micro-HDMI to connect monitors. In this case, use Windows 8. When connected to the tablet block the user can switch between Windows 8 and Android 4.2 by pressing a single button.
