Intel has expressed its opinion on the dwindling supply of personal computers in the world market. According to IDC, in the second quarter of 2013 were shipped 75.6 million desktops, laptops and candy bars. Drop over the same period of 2012 was already 11.4%.

Analysts believe that the PC market is showing a decline due to the unstable economic situation as well as the boom of smartphones and tablets, due to which consumers put off purchasing a new desktop, laptop or a candy bar.

At the same time, as noted by Intel, a survey conducted by IDC staff of approximately 4,000 adult residents of the United States, showed that more than 97% of PC users it remains the primary computing device. Moreover, 41% of respondents said that within the next year plan to buy a new PC – desktop or laptop.

In other words, the PC market may begin to recover in the coming quarters. The study showed that the majority of computer users age is not less than four years, which means that soon it will need an update.
